Member Interest Groups

The WBO Member Interest Groups are a great way for you to get plugged into WBO as a member. By selecting your experience and interest you will be placed in a group of peers. Your group will meet quarterly at the discretion of the group leader. Don’t forget to fill out your profile so your group can get to know you better. While networking is very important, this is your opportunity to contribute to the group.

 Creatives

You are naturally creative or work in a creative field such as design, marketing, art, media, public relations, or make your own products etc.

Group Leaders: Marketing, Programs

Group Involvement: design, marketing, and public relations.

 Connectors

You are naturally outgoing and make friends easily. You may work in sales, networking, politics, speaking, etc.

Leaders: Membership, Hospitality, Area Round Table

Group Involvement: membership benefits, helping guests feel welcome, and special events.

You have a passion for organizing, or work in education, planning, admin, etc.

How Do WBO Interest Groups Work

  1.  How do I select a group?
    Members select their desired Interest Group based on personality and experience by going to your profile and selecting a group under WBO Involvement. If a selection is not made, the board can select a group for them. *The board member may select the final group for the member base on group levels during the approval process of application.

  2. How many people are in a group?
    Each group comprises of 25% of membership (20-30 members). Your desired group may be full, and you can join another group until the next year. 

  3. When do groups meet?
    The group leaders may set their own schedule, but most groups meet quarterly on the 1st week of February, May, August and November.

  4. What if I don't want to be part of a group?
    You may change your group selection in your profile, or select to opt-out of all groups. 

  5. What do Interest Groups do?
    Each group participates in different facets of the association for the good of the association, and to encourage members to get to know one another. You will never be forced to do anything you do not want to do. Simple share with your group leader what you are comfortable with participating in.
